new york times travel

About a frequent flier who goes on a fake trip to hit his end-of-the-year 100k mile quota. (It's first class all the way; naturally. Hehe I think even if I ever even got a first-class ticket somewhere, the flight attendant would tell me I was lost and politely direct me back to coach.)
Thanks Rodrigo!!

"like a sin-soaked anchorite of old repairing to the desert..." – john updike, if you weren't dead I would marry you today.

another old favourite

an old sketch from Italian class...
translates to "I am sorry that you have broken your leg – I hope you have a nice day!"

new sketchbook page

thanks to natstar and the brilliant kindergarten musings of her sister, circa 1990?

old sketchbook page

found this one getting ready for recent interviews - it's so strange, I love it - what on earth is a long distance fake boyfriend, who isn't even really a boy? I was just writing down snippets of a conversation, and really wish I could remember what on earth it was about.
